From Suncatcher B&B to Burncoat Head Park and Lighthouse,
Rte # 236 to Rte # 215
From Truro, Rte # 236 takes you along the Minas Basin through rich farmlands. Depending on the tide times of the day, there are opportunities to stop and watch the tidal bore rafters on the Shubenacadie River.
For those who want to experience the tidal bore rafting first-hand, the village of Maitland has several companies that provide two or four hour rafting adventures. Remember to wear your darkest clothing and footwear or you will take home a mud-stained souvenir of Nova Scotia!
A scenic drive along the Minas Basin takes you to Noel and Burncoat Provincial Park. This park has hiking trails, beautiful gardens, access to the shoreline, and a lighthouse with an A/V show about the area.
